Commercial Auto Insurance
A Commercial Automobile policy provides coverage for legal liability for others' bodily injury or property damage arising out of the use of your business automobiles. Physical damage coverage protects your vehicles in case of accident or damage or damage caused by fire, hail, and other risks. Business owners can designate coverage for owned vehicles as well as leased, hired and/or borrowed vehicles.
In general terms it’s same type of policy one would purchase for personal use. If your business provides employees with company cars, or if you have a delivery truck, your business needs to think about commercial auto insurance.
Money saving tips follow along the same lines as with personal policies, increasing deductibles, driver restrictions and possibly removing collision and comprehensive coverage from older fleet vehicles all may lower premiums.
However don’t lower premiums by cutting liability coverage. Minimal packages of 25/50/25 (per person bodily injury/total accident coverage/property damage) are available; yet, hitting an expensive sports car can quickly wipe out the insurance company's coverage. Pay the extra few dollars for higher coverage of 100/300/100.
